Aubrey City Council voted 5–0 on Sept. 24 to approve the High Country Phase 10 final plat with conditions, advancing a development west of the McNatt Road and Frontier Parkway intersection.

The plat provides for 136 residential lots, four open-space lots and one general retail lot in Aubrey’s extraterritorial jurisdiction. It also includes right-of-way dedication for McNatt Road and Frontier Parkway.

The council’s official record separately marks a right-of-way waiver as approved. The city’s staff report identifies that request as allowing a 100-foot right of way for Frontier Parkway instead of the 120 feet called for in the city’s thoroughfare plan.

The staff-recommended conditions call for an infrastructure agreement among the responsible parties and an analysis by the developer’s traffic engineer addressing right of way and construction timing for the future Frontier Parkway, or Stewart Road, connection from McNatt Road to U.S. 377.

The report says D.R. Horton has built one segment of a two-lane divided roadway, while additional right of way is needed for the remaining segments. The plat approval should not be read as completion of the connection to U.S. 377.
