Aubrey has scheduled an Oct. 22 public hearing on a voluntary annexation request for about 237 acres associated with the Covey Creek development.

Council members voted 5–0 on Sept. 24 to accept the petition and set the hearing for 6 p.m. Oct. 22 at 226 Countryside Drive. The action sets up public review; it is not final annexation approval.

The petition was submitted by property owners MM Covey Creek 165, LLC and MMM 2025 Family, LP. It covers land commonly identified as 9882 Coffey Road and the applicable portion of Coffey Road and its right of way.

According to the city’s staff report, the property is covered by a development agreement that includes annexation. Residents can use the hearing to comment on bringing the property inside Aubrey’s city limits.
