Irving's 165 yards power Bucs past Cowboys 24-16 in Arlington

Bucky Irving ran for 165 yards and scored twice as Tampa Bay pulled away in the third quarter to beat Dallas 24-16 at AT&T Stadium for its first win of the season.

Bucs Take Over After Halftime

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving ran for 165 yards on 21 carries and scored two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving, as Tampa Bay beat the Dallas Cowboys 24-16 on Thursday at AT&T Stadium. It was the Buccaneers' first win of the season and moved them to 1-4. Dallas fell to 2-3 in front of a crowd of 92,351.

Early Lead Vanishes in Third Quarter

Dallas struck first when Javonte Williams ran in from a yard out, giving the Cowboys a 7-0 lead. Irving caught a 5-yard touchdown pass from rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels in the second quarter to tie it, and Brandon Aubrey's 41-yard field goal sent Dallas to halftime ahead 10-7.

The third quarter belonged to Tampa Bay, which scored 17 unanswered points. Emeka Egbuka ran 14 yards for a touchdown to put the Bucs ahead, Irving followed with a 1-yard scoring run, and Chase McLaughlin kicked a 41-yard field goal for a 24-10 lead.

Prescott's Two Interceptions

Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott completed 24 of 42 passes for 316 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. The touchdown went to George Pickens in the fourth quarter, but the two-point pass attempt failed, leaving the final at 24-16. Pickens finished with nine receptions for 130 yards.

Daniels Keeps It Clean

Daniels, an undrafted rookie in his second start, completed 19 of 25 passes for 189 yards and the touchdown to Irving without an interception. Tez Johnson added a 64-yard reception.
