Marlins Take Early Lead
Miami established control early, scoring in the second, third, and fourth innings. Allen singled to right field in the second inning, driving in Diaz to give the Marlins a 1-0 advantage. Spence advanced to third on the play.
In the third, Peña homered to left field, extending the lead to 2-0. The Marlins added another run in the fourth when Sanoja doubled to right, scoring Conine to make it 2-1. Mack followed with a single to left, bringing Sanoja home to tie the game at 2-2 before the Astros could respond.
Astros Respond in the Eighth
The game remained deadlocked until the eighth inning. Alvarez launched a 394-foot home run to left center, scoring Peña and putting Houston ahead 4-2. Paredes immediately followed with a 398-foot home run to left center, extending the Astros’ lead to 5-2. The Marlins were unable to mount any further offense, and the Astros held on for the win.
