Astros Offense Breaks Through
The Houston Astros overcame an early deficit to secure a 5-1 victory against the New York Yankees on Thursday night at Yankee Stadium. Christian Walker provided the offensive spark for Houston, launching two home runs during the game. Jeremy Peña also contributed significantly with a solo blast, helping the visiting club break open a tight contest.
Walker’s first long ball came in the sixth inning, a three-run shot to right center that measured 369 feet. The homer gave Houston a 3-0 lead and effectively shifted the momentum away from the home team.
Walker later added another run in the eighth inning when he scored on a throwing error by Yankees third baseman Caballero, with Diaz reaching safely on a fielding error by shortstop Lombard Jr.
Peña’s power display included a solo home run to left field in the seventh inning, which extended the Astros’ advantage to 4-1. His earlier production came in the third inning when he scored on a single by Paredes that gave Houston an initial 1-0 lead.
Pitching Performances Define Game Flow
Hayden Wesneski earned the win for Houston, pitching five innings and allowing three runs while striking out six batters. He improved his record to 4-1 with the decision. Steven Okert and AJ Blubaugh provided relief support, combining for three scoreless innings with three strikeouts between them. Josh Hader closed out the game with a perfect inning, recording two strikeouts without allowing a hit or walk.
