Aubrey's School Year Is Underway. Here Is the Calendar That Comes With It.

Aubrey ISD students returned to class Wednesday, opening the 2026-27 school year. Teachers had been back since Aug. 4 for staff development.

The first day landed on the second Wednesday of August, the anchor the board chose when it approved this calendar in February after surveying families and staff.

The dates to put on the refrigerator

From the district's approved calendar:

• Thanksgiving break: Nov. 23-27
• Winter break: Dec. 21 through Jan. 1
• Spring break: March 8-12
• Last day of school: Thursday, May 27, 2027

A district in a growing town

The new school year opens alongside a busy season for the town itself, with the city recently naming a construction manager for its future sports complex and new development continuing along the U.S. 380 corridor.
