Aubrey junior Paisley Hopper was identified as one of the top performers in Denton-area high school volleyball following the start of district play. The player contributed significantly to the Lady Chaparrals, a state-ranked team, as they secured a 2-0 record in District 9-4A competition.
In the team's opening match against Ponder, Hopper recorded 13 kills and tied for the team lead with four blocks. She followed that performance with a team-high 15 kills and two blocks in the subsequent victory over Van Alstyne, another state-ranked opponent. These efforts helped the Lady Chaparrals begin their district schedule with strong wins.
The Denton Record-Chronicle highlighted Hopper alongside several other local athletes who posted notable statistics during the same week of games. Other recognized players included Janai Ray-Duty from Guyer, Karsyn Rogers from Argyle, Paulina Flores from Denton, Evangeline Trahan from Ryan, Paige Douglas from Lake Dallas, and Kate Simmons from Ponder.
Each of these athletes contributed key statistics in their respective district matchups. For instance, Ray-Duty posted a double-double in a loss to Frisco Wakeland, while Rogers led Argyle to two sweeps. Flores recorded multiple kills and digs in losses for the Lady Broncos, and Trahan helped Ryan secure two victories.
Douglas posted team-high assists and aces for Lake Dallas, and Simmons led Ponder in kills and digs during a win over Lake Dallas.
