Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway is expected back when the Bears face Colorado at McLane Stadium in Waco, with 11 players from the two teams unavailable. Baylor and Colorado both entered the Big 12 matchup at 2-1. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. Central and will air on ESPN2.
Lagway has been out since Baylor's Sept. 5 game with an ankle injury. He was cleared by the team's medical staff after coach Dave Aranda offered an earlier-week forecast about his return. Nate Bennett will return to a backup role after two starts, during which he passed for 567 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions while completing 75% of his attempts.
He also rushed for 15 yards and two touchdowns.
Baylor's unavailable players are Jacob Redding, Jamarion Richardson, Devonte Tezino, Cayden Tone and Ashton Jones. Jadon Porter and Devin Turner, previously listed as probable, are available, as is Hosea Wheeler, whose status was upgraded from questionable. Colorado ruled out Danny Scudero, Preston Ashley, Colby Johnson, Vili Taufatofua, Demetrius Hunter and Charlie Williams.
Scudero and Williams have totaled 94 yards from scrimmage and one touchdown this season. Xavier Payne was listed as a game-time decision. Lowell Galindo and Kirk Morrison are scheduled to call the game.
