Tayven Jackson has been named the starting quarterback for the North Texas Mean Green as they gear up to face Indiana University on September 5, 2026. This matchup is particularly relevant for Aubrey, Texas, as it showcases a local talent in a significant collegiate game.

Jackson, who has a diverse college football background, previously played for Indiana University. In the 2023-24 season, he participated in 13 games, completing 61.2% of his passes, throwing for six touchdowns and six interceptions.

He transferred to the University of Central Florida in 2025, where he recorded a completion percentage of 63.5% and amassed 2,151 passing yards, contributing ten touchdowns and eight interceptions to the Knights' overall performance of 5-7.

Before entering college football, Jackson excelled at Center Grove High School, where he threw for a total of 4,813 yards and 47 touchdowns between 2018 and 2021, leading his team to an undefeated championship in Class 6A.

Tayven Jackson is also known as the sibling of Trayce Jackson-Davis, who was honored as Indiana's Mr. Basketball in 2019 and is currently in his fourth season with the Toronto Raptors.

The game between North Texas and Indiana is scheduled to commence at noon and will be available for viewing on Fox.
