Aubrey, Texas, is located approximately 280 miles from Lubbock.

Texas Tech University has committed to paying Texas State University $1.2 million for a non-conference football game scheduled at Jones AT&T Stadium on September 14, 2030. This agreement, reported by FBSchedules.com based on an open-records contract, completes the Red Raiders' non-conference schedule for that specific year.

The team will begin the 2030 season with a road trip to Las Vegas to face Arkansas on August 31. One week later, they will host Fresno State before the Texas State contest. While the 2030 slate is now full, the program still needs to secure one non-conference opponent for each of the years 2027, 2028, and 2029.

These remaining gaps follow several recent scheduling changes. Mississippi State canceled a two-game series for 2028 and 2029 without penalty due to SEC model shifts. North Carolina State bought out a 2027 Lubbock game, and Texas Tech purchased its own buyout for a 2027 road game against North Texas.

The university currently holds two non-conference home games for each of those three years, with guarantees ranging from $300,000 to $1 million. Other long-term adjustments include moving an Arkansas home game to 2034 and shifting a 2033 Oregon road game from 2024 to preserve the Oregon-Oregon State rivalry.
