DJ Lagway is poised to start as Baylor's quarterback in their opening game against Auburn, which will take place at a neutral site in Atlanta. Both teams are eager to improve upon their previous season's records of 5-7.
Last season, Baylor's offense was led by Sawyer Robertson, who threw for 3,681 yards, achieving 31 touchdowns and 12 interceptions with a 60.3 completion percentage. Bryson Washington contributed significantly in rushing with 788 yards and six touchdowns. Josh Cameron was a key receiver, accumulating 872 yards and nine touchdowns from 69 receptions.
On the other side, Auburn's offense was directed by Jackson Arnold, who recorded 1,309 passing yards with six touchdowns and two interceptions, boasting a completion rate of 63.3%. Jeremiah Cobb led their rushing game with 969 yards and five touchdowns, while Cam Coleman was the top receiver with 708 yards and five touchdowns.
Both Baylor and Auburn will look to start their seasons positively, with Baylor scheduled to host Prairie View A&M on September 12, and Auburn set to face Southern Miss on the same day.
