Acy is 6 feet, 7 inches tall and is described as having the frame to help on offense and defense. His defensive abilities include protecting the rim, interrupting passes, and producing blocks and deflections.
He is the son of Quincy Acy, who played forward for Baylor from 2008 through 2012. Quincy Acy earned a place on the Big 12's defensive all-conference team in 2011-12 and was known for scoring, rebounding, and blocking shots near the basket. Baylor coach Scott Drew led the program during each of Quincy Acy's four seasons.
Drew became Baylor's head coach in 2003 and previously served on the staff at Valparaiso under his father, Hall of Fame coach Homer Drew. A Baylor commitment would put Bear Acy under the direction of the coach who worked with his father, although it is not known whether that relationship will affect his choice.
