In the wake of Walker's departure, Koltin Sieracki has emerged as a primary contender for the center position. Offensive line coach Austin Woods indicated that Koltin has been receiving substantial practice time this summer and is likely to start against Auburn. Woods commended Sieracki, saying he has excelled in leadership and performance during training.
Koltin Sieracki, standing 6'4" and weighing 317 pounds, served as Baylor's sixth lineman last season, starting three games at both right guard and center. Although he was initially slated to play guard this year, he is now focusing on center, a position he prefers. "I actually prefer center," Sieracki remarked, highlighting his comfort with the role.
The offensive line's setup is still in flux, with Nate Kibble from Texas and Asher Hale from South Alabama reportedly joining Sieracki at guard. Logan Moore, a UAB transfer, is positioned at left tackle, while Cole Rhett from Toledo is being tested in various roles, suggesting he may compete for a starting spot or take on Sieracki's previous sixth lineman role.
Woods noted the progress of Rhett and Hale, emphasizing their continuous improvement as they gain experience during fall camp.
