Milton was selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. He demonstrated his strong throwing ability during the preseason, although he only appeared in one regular-season game with the Patriots. In April 2025, he joined the Cowboys through a trade, where he gained experience by participating in four games, albeit without a starting role.
After being waived at the end of August, Milton chose to rejoin the Cowboys' practice squad, reflecting his contentment with the team's trajectory. Schottenheimer and the coaching staff are optimistic about Milton's continued development.
The Cowboys are scheduled to begin their 2026 season on September 13 when they face off against the New York Giants, with quarterback Jaxson Dart leading the team.
