Jalen Thompson is expected to miss a minimum of four weeks with a hamstring injury, Dallas executive vice president Stephen Jones said Monday. The Cowboys have not determined whether to place the safety on injured reserve, but he is considered a possible candidate for the list.
Thompson left Dallas’ 34-31 loss to the Ravens in Rio de Janeiro after being hurt in the second quarter Sunday. He had played every defensive snap through Dallas’ first nine-plus quarters of the season and made 17 tackles before departing.
The injury further reduces the Cowboys’ options at safety. Malik Hooker has been out for the last two games with a forearm injury, while P.J. Locke went on injured reserve Saturday because of a foot injury.
