The Dallas Cowboys have officially cut their roster down from 91 players to the mandated 53 in preparation for the 2026 NFL season. This decision comes as the team gears up for their season opener in East Rutherford, while also working to finalize their practice squad.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer remarked that this year's roster cuts were particularly tough due to the depth and talent present within the team. The Cowboys' initial roster features three quarterbacks, three running backs, six wide receivers, and a variety of players across defensive and special teams positions.
The roster includes notable players such as quarterbacks Dak Prescott and Joe Milton, running backs Javonte Williams and Malik Davis, and wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens. The team has also placed several players on injured reserve or the physically unable to perform list, including linebacker Marist Liufau and cornerback Devin Moore.
Additional roster adjustments are expected as the Cowboys finalize their preparations for the upcoming season.
