Dalton Schultz, a tight end for the Houston Texans, was absent from all three preseason contests. Along with Schultz, both wide receiver Nico Collins and running back David Montgomery were also sidelined. Quarterback C.J. Stroud had limited action during the August 20 matchup against the Raiders.
Schultz is coming off a successful 2025 regular season, where he recorded a career-high 82 receptions and 777 receiving yards, his best performance since the 2021 season with the Cowboys, where he achieved 808 yards.
With Jayden Higgins out for the entire 2026 season due to a knee injury and Tank Dell beginning the season on injured reserve, Schultz and Collins are anticipated to be significant targets for Stroud as the new season approaches. Further information about the Texans' roster and injury status remains unclear.
