Houston entered its road game against the Indianapolis Colts with an 0-2 record and was down 10-0 late in the first half. The Texans also lost middle linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair to a groin injury during the contest.
Al-Shaair, a Pro Bowl defender, was described as questionable to return for the rest of the game. No additional information about the injury was provided. ClutchPoints reported that Houston’s defense, considered by many analysts before the season to be among the NFL’s strongest, struggled in each of the team’s first two games.
Those losses came at home against the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. Houston recovered from a difficult beginning last season and advanced to the playoffs. Following the Colts matchup, the Texans are scheduled to return home next week for a game against the Dallas Cowboys. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
