Houston Texans receiver Nico Collins has not practiced for two consecutive sessions, leaving his status uncertain for the team’s Week 3 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts. Houston has one practice remaining before Sunday’s game, and the team had not announced a final decision on Collins.
The 27-year-old hurt his hamstring while preparing for Week 2 and was inactive against the Cincinnati Bengals. He opened the season with seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets in Houston’s 36-31 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
If Collins is unavailable at Lucas Oil Stadium, Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte could see larger roles. Tight end Dalton Schultz has produced 175 receiving yards on 16 receptions through two games, the most downfield receiving production for Houston during that span.
Collins’ next possible game would be Week 4, when the Texans are scheduled to host the Dallas Cowboys. He has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons, including 1,117 yards in 2025. Collins previously played for the Michigan Wolverines and received an offseason contract adjustment from Houston.
