A Heavy Offensive Load

The game began with the Rangers taking an early 1-0 lead in the first inning when Nimmo doubled to left field, allowing Seager to cross home plate. The Athletics responded in the third inning, tying the game at 1-1 when Butler singled to center and Gelof scored. However, the tie was short-lived.
Later in the same frame, Nimmo singled to right, bringing Seager home again to give Texas a 2-1 advantage.
Rangers Extend Lead in Fifth
Texas pulled away in the fifth inning with two runs. Nimmo singled to right, driving in Pederson and Seager, who both scored from earlier positions. Langford reached third base during the play. The rally continued as Duran grounded out to second; Langford scored from third, and Nimmo advanced to second, making the score 5-1.
Late Inning Scoring
The Athletics managed to get on the board in the seventh inning when Stefanic singled to right, scoring Gelof and leaving Heim at second. The score stood at 5-2 entering the eighth. Butler hit a sacrifice fly to center field in the eighth, scoring Cortes to make it 5-3.
