Aubrey's U.S. House contest this fall is in the 26th Congressional District, which under the 2025 Texas map includes the whole city, according to Texas Legislative Council census tables.

Republican Brandon Gill, first elected in 2024, is running for a second term. He told the Cross Timbers Gazette it would be an honor to keep representing the district and that he wants to bring "common sense to Washington." Trump has endorsed him and recognized him during Thursday's visit to Peterbilt's Denton plant.

Democrat Steven Shook won his party's March primary over Ernest Lineberger. His platform centers on lowering health and prescription costs and protecting rural hospitals, and his campaign site calls for expanding Medicare drug price negotiation.

The Vote-USA candidate directory also shows Libertarian Phil Gray in the race. Early voting is Oct. 19 through Oct. 30, and Election Day is Nov. 3; sample ballots are at votedenton.gov.
