A Brakes Plus auto repair shop is planned for the northeast corner of U.S. 377 and Spring Hill Road, according to a project registered with the state on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
The registration, logged in the state licensing department's accessibility review system, describes ground-up construction of a 4,900-square-foot auto service building along with site work. It puts the estimated cost at $1.5 million and lists the location as Aubrey, in Denton County.
Who is behind it
The property owner is Aubrey Land JV LLC, a Dallas company based on Douglas Avenue, and the design firm is ARCODEV Architects of Littleton, Colorado. The filing names the facility Brakes Plus but lists the tenant as "not assigned." It describes the project as privately funded, on private land, for private use.
Work is scheduled to start Dec. 1 and finish by Dec. 1, 2027, according to the registration.
What Brakes Plus does
On its website, Brakes Plus describes itself as a full-service auto repair shop. Its service list covers brake pads and rotors, oil changes, alignments, batteries, air conditioning repair, steering and suspension work and other maintenance.
The state filing does not say when the shop would open, how many people it would employ or how the rest of the corner might be developed.
