Grier Returns to Cowboys in Offensive Assistant Role

Aubrey, Texas — Will Grier will join the Cowboys as an offensive assistant, beginning the role when training camp opens next week.

Dallas made the announcement July 24. The club said the 31-year-old had recently retired after an offseason with Carolina; ESPN reported he ended his playing career July 15.

The move reunites him with Brian Schottenheimer and Dak Prescott in the Cowboys organization.

Grier entered the NFL as Carolina’s 2019 third-round choice. His two earlier Dallas stops centered mainly on preseason work and practice squads.

Aubrey-area Cowboys followers will see the former quarterback begin his staff role next week.
