The animated series "King of the Hill" has returned with its 15th season on Hulu, showcasing the influence of Richardson as the model for its fictional town, Arlen. All 10 episodes were released on July 20, marking the second season since the show was revived in 2025, with a renewal already confirmed through season 17.
Co-creator Mike Judge, who lived in Richardson during the 1990s, has acknowledged the city as a key inspiration for Arlen. While the town is a blend of various Dallas-area suburbs, its essence reflects the characteristics of mid-century neighborhoods, including wide streets and backyard grills.
This season also features the University of Texas at Dallas, located on West Campbell Road in Richardson's Telecom Corridor, integrating local culture into the storyline.
The season includes references to North Texas landmarks, such as Hank repairing Big Tex at the State Fair of Texas and appearances by Whataburger. The storyline follows Hank and Peggy as they navigate retirement, while their son Bobby, now an adult, runs a fusion restaurant in Dallas and seeks a spot on a reality cooking show.
The voice cast includes returning members Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, and Pamela Adlon, among others.
