Construction officially commenced on the Rosamond Town Center project in Anna, Texas, during a ceremony held on Tuesday, June 30. The event brought together representatives from Big V Property Group, The Seitz Group, Principal Asset Management, and Citizens Bank alongside municipal leaders to mark the beginning of the development phase.
The new facility will occupy 355,826 square feet at the southeast intersection of Rosamond Parkway and Highway 75. Designed as an open-air shopping destination, the center will be anchored by several major retailers, including Academy Sports + Outdoors, Aldi, Burlington, EOS Fitness, Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, PetSmart, and T.J. Maxx. The site plan also includes space for outparcels and various specialty stores.
Rosamond Town Center serves as a companion project to the nearby Rosamond Crossing. Together, the two developments will form a 750,000-square-foot retail complex in Collin County. The project is funded through developer equity, financing from Principal Asset Management, and a construction loan provided by Citizens Bank. Big V Property Group, The Seitz Group, and Principal are the primary developers behind the combined complex.
Local officials highlighted the economic impact of the new center. Anna Mayor Pete Cain described the project as a significant milestone that will alter the city’s retail landscape and tax base. He noted that the development is expected to create 750 jobs. Danielle Kaufman, speaking for The Seitz Group, emphasized the importance of the partnership between the developers and the city government.
Texas Representative Keresa Richardson, who represents District 61, attended the groundbreaking. She linked the growth in Anna to the state’s broader expansion and celebrated the occasion as part of America’s 250th anniversary observances. U.S. Representative Keith Self’s office also recognized the project, presenting a Congressional Commendation and a letter to the development team through District Director Michelle Bishop.
Kenton McKeehan, President and Chief Investment Officer of Big V Property Group, expressed pride in the collaboration. He noted that the project extends the Metroplex retail footprint by nine miles. Big V Property Group currently manages six shopping centers in Texas, including RIM in San Antonio, which is cited as the most visited shopping center in the state.
