Prosper ISD Superintendent Holly Ferguson will retire at the end of 2026, according to a letter sent to staff and parents on March 9. The district board had previously extended her contract through 2031 during a February meeting, changing the term from the original July 2025 to June 2030 period. Ferguson will remain in her role through May 18 before transitioning to superintendent emeritus and officially retiring on Jan. 31, 2027.

In Celina, the school district has established school zones for Willard Middle School. The district is also preparing for the 2027-28 school year with the opening of three new elementary campuses. These will be the district's sixth, seventh, and eighth elementary schools. Alma Jo Scott Elementary School will honor a former educator known as an original Bobcat Mom who served for 38 years. Ophelia Grumbles Elementary School will recognize a teacher who began her career in Celina in the late 1930s. The third campus will be named for Janet H. Calvert, who spent over 30 years as a teacher and administrator.

Speed limits have been set for the new school zones. The area near Jim Bridges Middle School in Prosper ISD will have a 35 mph limit, while other new zones will be restricted to 20 mph during drop-off and pickup times. Prosper is about 12 miles southeast of Aubrey.

Voters in Celina ISD will choose candidates for Board of Trustees Place 3 and Place 4. Early voting for the May 2 election runs from April 20 through April 28, with registration closing on April 2. Candidates for Place 3 include Vicky Hogue and Cameron Riggs. Place 4 features incumbent Jennifer R. Driver, David Hogue, and Erin Norris.

Collin College has approved tuition rates for the fall 2026 semester that match current prices. In-district residents will pay $67 per credit hour, out-of-district residents $127, and out-of-state or international students $202. The college notes its in-district rate is the lowest in the state.
