Baylor University's quarterback DJ Lagway is currently listed as day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as reported by head coach Dave Aranda. The team remains hopeful that Lagway will be fit to participate in the upcoming game against Prairie View A&M.
Lagway suffered the injury during the Bears' close 17-16 loss to Auburn in their season opener. Despite the setback, he played the full game and effectively led the offense, although his mobility was compromised. In his debut, Lagway completed 27 of 54 passes, totaling 333 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception.
He played a pivotal role in a late-game comeback, overcoming a 17-10 deficit by connecting with Gavin Freeman for a crucial 28-yard pass on fourth-and-10, followed by a 27-yard pass to Jadon Porter that set up a touchdown.
Updates on Lagway's recovery are anticipated after practice on Tuesday and Wednesday as the team continues to assess his condition.
