The Dallas Cowboys reportedly signed Tyler Goodson on Tuesday after Malik Davis suffered a hip injury requiring surgery, ending Davis’ season. Goodson is 25 years old and was listed at 5 feet 9 inches and 200 pounds.
Emari Demercado took over as Dallas’ second running back against the Giants. He had two carries for 7 yards behind Javonte Williams, who ran 12 times among the Cowboys’ 18 rushing attempts. Williams also made five receptions for 35 yards and a touchdown.
Goodson played in 33 games across three seasons with Indianapolis, gaining 264 yards on 54 carries, or 4.9 yards per attempt. He also logged 304 special teams snaps over the past two seasons. Green Bay signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2023 before releasing him, and he later spent time with Atlanta, including its practice squad after being cut and clearing waivers.
Dallas then signed him. Goodson’s final Iowa season included 1,151 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He made an All-Big Ten team and ran a 4.42-second 40-yard dash.
