TCU’s 2027 recruiting class now includes North Crowley offensive tackle Gabriel Brooks, who announced Sept. 17 that he had moved his commitment from Stephen F. Austin. Brooks said conversations with his family and personal prayer guided the decision, which he also described as a choice to stay near home.
Brooks, listed at 6 feet 5 inches and 265 pounds, had mainly received offers from Football Championship Subdivision programs, including SFA and Southern University. TCU made his first offer from a Football Bowl Subdivision school. Brooks selected the chance to compete in a Power Four conference.
North Crowley began the season 3-0, with victories over Aledo, Southlake Carroll and Summer Creek, which is from the Houston area. The Panthers are set to visit Duncanville at 7 p.m. Friday. Brooks’ addition gives TCU 19 players in its 2027 class. That group stands 54th nationally and eighth in the Big 12, according to sports.yahoo.com.
