The Houston Texans are assessing the potential signing of Jaden Davis, a cornerback formerly with the Arizona Cardinals. Recently, Davis was cleared to play and took part in a workout with the Texans, according to KPRC 2's Aaron Wilson on September 5.

Davis was drafted by the Cardinals in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, where he was the 226th overall selection. A video shared on social media highlighted his preparation to return to competitive play. The Texans are aiming to strengthen their cornerback position, which has been impacted by injuries this season, an ongoing issue since 2025.

Currently, Jalen Pitre, a safety, is taking on the nickelback role, while Jaylin Smith, a third-round selection in the 2025 draft, has faced significant injury challenges during his rookie year.

Davis has been recognized in The Athletic's draft guide as one of the top remaining prospects. NFL draft analyst Lance Zierlein noted that while he possesses good foot speed and agility as a nickel corner, he will need to enhance his anticipation skills to improve his performance in the NFL.

Further updates regarding Davis's status and the possibility of him signing with the Texans are anticipated as the situation unfolds.
