Nico Collins’ availability for Houston’s Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals remains undecided after the Texans receiver missed two straight practices with a hamstring injury.
Collins was injured during Wednesday’s workout and also sat out Thursday and Friday. NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Houston’s doctors did not view the injury as serious, but the 27-year-old remained unavailable. Ian Rapoport said Friday on *The Pat McAfee Show* that missing both practices reduced Collins’ chances of playing, while also describing the hamstring issue as apparently not serious.
Collins began the 2026 season with seven catches, 75 receiving yards and a touchdown while being targeted 10 times in Houston’s 36-31 defeat against the Buffalo Bills. He had surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the three seasons before 2026. ClutchPoints.com reported that his status had not been settled.
If Collins is held out against Cincinnati, he could potentially return for Houston’s Week 3 meeting with the Indianapolis Colts on Sept. 27.
