Nico Collins was not visible during the portion of Houston’s Wednesday practice open to reporters, his third consecutive missed session. The wide receiver suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain before the Texans’ Week 2 game against Cincinnati, and his availability for the Indianapolis Colts game remains unknown. SI.com reported that Collins could instead return in Week 4 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Dalton Schultz, Trent Brown, Ed Ingram and Jadeveon Clowney also were not seen during the media-access period. Schultz is a tight end, Brown and Ingram are offensive linemen, and Clowney is an edge rusher. No additional information was provided about those players’ statuses.
Collins did not play against the Bengals, a game in which no Houston wide receiver recorded more than three catches or 40 yards. Schultz had 12 receptions totaling 140 yards. Xavier Hutchinson, Kayshon Boutte and Jaylin Noel together made seven catches.
The Texans are 0-2, and if Collins remains out, those three receivers would be expected to take on more work while offensive coordinator Nick Caley prepares for another contest without Houston’s top wideout.
