Nico Collins will not play when the Houston Texans face the Cincinnati Bengals after suffering a Grade 1 hamstring injury during Wednesday’s practice. He missed Houston’s last two practices of the week and was listed as out on the team’s final injury report.

Collins opened the season with seven catches, 75 yards and one touchdown in Houston’s 36-31 defeat against Buffalo. He has been one of the Texans’ most productive offensive players over the past three seasons. Houston is still seeking its first win of the season after C.J. Stroud threw passes to 11 different players in the opener.

The Texans plan to replace Collins’ workload through several players. Kayshon Boutte, Xavier Hutchinson and Jaylin Noel are possible candidates for increased opportunities, while Jayden Higgins is unavailable because of a season-ending ACL injury. Collins’ status for Houston’s Week 3 meeting with the Indianapolis Colts has not been determined.

Aaron Wilson reported that the receiver’s availability for that game is still being evaluated, and no further return details were provided.
