The Houston Texans will not have wide receiver Jayden Higgins available for the entire 2026 season after he suffered a torn ACL. This injury occurred while participating in a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders, as reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

Higgins was chosen as the 34th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and had a strong first season, making 41 receptions for 525 yards and scoring six touchdowns. He became a significant target for quarterback C.J. Stroud after teammate Tank Dell was injured late in the 2024 season.

In the 2025 season, Higgins caught 41 passes from 68 targets, with a notable increase in his target share during Houston's nine-game winning streak to end the regular season. His performance peaked late in the season, scoring four touchdowns in the final nine weeks and achieving his highest yardage totals in Weeks 13 and 17.

In Higgins' absence, the Texans will rely on players like Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Justin Watson to bolster their receiving group. The team is also optimistic about Tank Dell's potential return from his own injury at some point this season. No further information has been released regarding Higgins' recovery timeline.
