Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko confirmed that wide receiver Madden Williams will be out for the entire 2026 season due to a lower-body injury sustained in practice. Surgery will be necessary for Williams, who was already absent from the season opener against Missouri State, joining safety Tawfiq Byard on the sidelines.
Williams' injury adds to the challenges for the Aggies, marking him as the third wide receiver unavailable before the season began. Earlier in fall camp, Jonah Wilson left the roster after transferring from Houston, and Jerome Myles was dismissed from the program for personal reasons. Myles, a former five-star recruit, had missed the entire 2025 season due to injury.
In light of Williams' absence, Texas A&M will depend on primary wide receivers Mario Craver, Isaiah Horton, and Ashton Bethel-Roman. True freshman Aaron Gregory made a notable contribution in the opener, scoring a 15-yard touchdown and finishing with two receptions for 22 yards. Additionally, Kelshaun Johnson and TK Norman will see increased opportunities, with Johnson recording three catches for 25 yards against Missouri State.
The team plans to finalize the wide receiver depth chart in the upcoming games before facing LSU in Baton Rouge.
