Aubrey, Texas — The deal followed San Jose’s acquisition of goalkeeper Angus Gunn. It is a roster transaction rather than coverage of a match result.

FC Dallas has acquired goalkeeper Daniel from the San Jose Earthquakes, giving the club an additional experienced option for the second half of the MLS season.

Daniel, 32, took over as San Jose’s starter in 2023 and recorded 15 clean sheets over 86 appearances in all competitions, MLS reported. His U.S. green card means he does not occupy an international roster slot.

San Jose receives up to $1 million in General Allocation Money. The package includes $700,000 that is guaranteed and $300,000 that is conditional, according to MLS and Field Level Media.

FC Dallas plays at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, roughly 22 miles southeast of Aubrey.

FC Dallas chief soccer officer André Zanotta said Daniel’s MLS experience will add competition in the goalkeeper group. Michael Collodi had started 13 matches this season and recorded three shutouts.
