The City of Denton has announced plans to host two separate community gatherings to mark the Fourth of July. Denton is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Aubrey.

The first celebration is the Yankee Doodle Parade, which will take place in Downtown Denton Square. The city shared these details on Facebook on Thursday. Pre-parade activities are scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. The official procession starts at 9 a.m. and will conclude at the City of Denton Development Service Center, located at 401 N. Elm St.

Drivers should note that the square will close at 6 a.m. on July 4. All vehicles must be removed from the area by that time to accommodate the event.

The second celebration is the Denton Noon Kiwanis Fireworks Show, held at the North Texas Fairgrounds at 2217 N. Carroll Blvd. Gates open at 6 p.m. for attendees. Parking is available for $10 per vehicle. Payments can be made using cash, credit cards, Venmo, or Cash App. Proceeds from parking fees support Kiwanis Youth Services.

Live music will be provided by the group Raised Right Men at 7 p.m. The fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m. Organizers have suggested that attendees wear red, white, and blue clothing. Visitors are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, sunscreen, and water.

Further details regarding additional activities or specific parade participants were not provided in the initial announcement.
