Dallas, about 37 miles south of Aubrey, issued a proclamation naming Sept. 17, 2026, as North Texas Giving Day. Organized by Communities Foundation of Texas, the event’s 18th annual campaign collected more than $76 million from 94,700 donors by midnight on Sept. 17 for nonprofits across the region.
The contributions were distributed among more than 3,300 organizations in 25 areas, such as education, health, social services, arts, environmental efforts and animal welfare. The preliminary 2026 amount was higher than the $74.2 million recorded from 94,000 donors at the same point in 2025. After processing continued through Sept. 30, the 2025 campaign totaled $78 million.
Since the event started in 2009, donors have given $788 million to North Texas nonprofits.
Amazon, the presenting sponsor, also donated to 15 participating organizations. Communities Foundation of Texas and its sponsors covered transaction and technology costs for gifts made through NorthTexasGivingDay.org, so each tax-deductible contribution made there went in full to the nonprofit selected by the donor. The website remains available year-round for cause campaigns, matching fundraisers, corporate group donations and nonprofit-led fundraising.
The next event is set for Sept. 16, 2027. Local Profile reported the totals and event details.
