Denton set to host nine North Texas nonconference basketball games

North Texas will play nine of its 13 nonconference games at the Super Pit during the 2026-27 men's basketball season.

North Texas will begin its 2026-27 men's basketball season Nov. 2 against Southwest Christian, opening a four-game homestand at the Super Pit in Denton. McNeese visits Nov. 5, followed by Santa Clara on Nov. 11 and South Alabama on Nov. 14. McNeese and Santa Clara reached the 2025-26 NCAA Tournament, while South Alabama played in the NIT.

The Mean Green's first road game is scheduled for Nov. 20 at App State in Boone, North Carolina. From Nov. 27 through Nov. 29, North Texas will compete in the Snake Rivers Invitational in Idaho Falls, Idaho, against listed opponents Drake, North Dakota State and Boise State. The schedule features three teams from last season's NCAA Tournament and two NIT teams.

North Texas will play its final six nonconference games in Texas, including five in Denton. Bradley is scheduled for Dec. 4, Mississippi Valley State for Dec. 6 and Texas State for Dec. 13 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth as part of the Coast-to-Coast Challenge.

The home schedule ends with Winthrop on Dec. 16, Bethune-Cookman on Dec. 20 and the University of the Southwest on Dec. 22. The American Conference schedule will be released later. Season tickets are available through the Mean Green Ticket Office at 940-565-2527 or ticketoffice@unt.edu.
