A Quiet Night for Arlington Offense
The Texas Rangers’ batting lineup remained completely silent during their Thursday contest against the Washington Nationals, resulting in a 6-0 defeat at Globe Life Field. Despite drawing some early attention, the Rangers failed to generate any momentum, ultimately falling short of even scoring a single run against a resilient Washington pitching staff.
Cavalli Controls the Game
Washington’s success was anchored by Cade Cavalli, who earned the win (11-5) with a commanding performance on the mound. Cavalli pitched six scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and one walk while striking out 11 batters. His ability to neutralize the Rangers’ order kept Arlington off the scoreboard for the majority of the game.
The Nationals’ bullpen maintained the shutout in the final three innings. Will Dion retired the side in order over one scoreless frame with one strikeout. Max Kranick followed, allowing one hit but no runs or walks in his inning. Jake Bird closed out the game with a perfect 1-2-3 seventh inning, recording his only strikeout without surrendering a hit or walk.
Rangers Pitching Struggles Continue
For Texas, starting pitcher Kumar Rocker took the loss (4-10) after five innings of work. Rocker allowed six hits and two earned runs, striking out three batters. The damage came early and persisted through his outing.
Relievers Cole Winn and Peyton Gray attempted to stem the bleeding but could not contain the Nationals’ offense. Winn pitched one inning, giving up two hits and one earned run. Peyton Gray faced the most pressure in the seventh inning; he allowed one hit and three earned runs, including a pivotal three-run home run that extended Washington’s lead to 6-0.
